Hi everyone, my name is Jo Lodder and I'm a former jockey who now calls Hong Kong home. I've always been drawn to adventure and the great outdoors, and trail running has given me the perfect outlet to indulge my passions.
Growing up in the world of horse racing taught me the importance of discipline and endurance, which have served me well in my new love of trail running. That's why I've taken on the "Run for Freedom" challenge, which involves tackling the five most famous trails in Hong Kong. Each trail presents its own unique challenges and stunning views, making this a true test of my skills and determination.
But this challenge is more than just a personal goal for me. I'm also using it as an opportunity to give back to the community. I'm raising funds for two incredible charities, 1st Step HK and Tails Lantau, which provide support and resources to those in need in Hong Kong. My hope is that my run will bring attention and support to these important causes.
My aspirations are to keep pushing myself physically and mentally, to explore new trails, and to live life to the fullest. The outdoors has a special way of bringing people together and creating a sense of community, and I hope that my journey as a trail runner will inspire others to find their own passions and never stop exploring.
Along with my love for trail running, I'm also proud to have built a successful business background. I am the managing partner of SnowDog Village in Niseko and a joint founder of JNW Properties. SnowDog Village is a luxury ski-in property in the heart of Niseko, Japan, offering guests an unforgettable ski experience with high-end amenities and breathtaking mountain views. JNW Properties, on the other hand, is a real estate investment company specializing in property acquisition based in Hong Kong. With my extensive experience in the real estate industry and an eye for potential, JNW Properties has grown into a thriving business.
In conclusion, my businesses, SnowDog Village and JNW Properties, along with my passion for trail running, are a testament to my entrepreneurial spirit and drive. I am constantly seeking new challenges and opportunities, and I look forward to continuing to grow and succeed in all of my ventures. Thank you for following my journey and supporting my efforts to raise funds for 1st Step HK and Tails Lantau. Together, let's make a positive impact on the community and live life to the fullest.
I am Jo Lodder a 52-year-old plant-based trail runner who loves life, I am so lucky to be able to run and enjoy the trails. I am going to run this challenge to help those who are less fortunate than I am. I have been loving the Hong Kong trails for the past 2 years and feel I should give back a little.
