From City to Shore: Adrienne Ng's Lantau Adventure

Adrienne Ng's story is one of passion, entrepreneurship, and a deep love for the outdoors.  Arriving in Hong Kong in 1996, she wasn't drawn to the city life. Instead, Lantau Island, with its natural beauty, captured her heart. It was here, inspired by the island's "treasures," that Treasure Island (TIG) was born.

Fresh out of college with a degree in Leisure and Sport Management, Ng's vision was to bring outdoor education and recreation programs to life.  Recognizing a gap in the market, particularly beyond traditional school programs, the young entrepreneur took a leap of faith.  With youthful enthusiasm, she started small, advertising her first camp by bicycle and plastering posters around the villages.

Treasure Island wasn't Ng's only Lantau love. An avid paddler herself, she became a fixture in the South Lantau Paddle Club.  There, she not only competes in dragon boat and outrigger canoe races, but also mentors and inspires others, proving that adventure has no age limit.

Today, TIG thrives under Ng's leadership, offering diverse programs that connect people with nature.  But Adrienne Ng's story goes beyond TIG. It's a testament to the transformative power of Lantau Island and the adventurous spirit that thrives there.
